[This would be Yotsuba's first real Christmas. Back home they never had the chance to celebrate in their new home before she was taken here. It was all so exciting, seeing all the bright lights and the snow.

The journal opens to show a small figure practically glued to the window of her apartment, staring out into the snow and lights. It really is beautiful you know, especially when it's your first time seeing anything like this.

Yotsuba turns to her journal and gives it a big wave and a huge smile before running over, picking the journal up and returning to the window. Anyone watching will now have a nice view from room 26 of building 5 of the surrounding area from the window. She's really excited you guys.]

It's so pretty! Look, look, do you see all the lights?! Christmas! This is definitely Christmas isn't it?!

[It's a shame Daddy isn't here to spend it with her... It had taken awhile, but she's used to Daddy not being here with her now. After all, he's going to appear someday and take her away and be all sorts of proud of her for being a big, brave girl whilst she was here.]

Gonna have lots of fun! Daddy, will you be having fun too? Don't eat too much, you'll get fat. Work hard! Don't break anything!!

[After reminding her father or what to do and not to do, she'll go back to staring out the window and will remain this way for a long time.]

[Otonashi had asked Yotsuba if she wanted to go out for a little while as he did a few Christmas-related errands, and of course she jumped at the opportunity!

Whilst Otonashi was busy, Yotsuba went off to explore. All this snow is fun, all these lights are fun, all this everything is fun!! Do you understand how much fun this is?! It's very fun!

During her explorations, Yotsuba finds herself outside the item shop, looking up at the door frame. Seems as though there's some mistletoe hanging there.

What is it? Why is it there? Can she eat it?]

That's right! He's not here quiiite yet, but soon. Maybe tomorrow! Maybe two-morrows!

Perhaps. Or perhaps he'll be here in January. We should be getting a lot of new people arriving in January.

[But it's not like he needs to tell you to cheer up, Yotsuba.]

Ohhh, or Jan-you-ary! Even when it starts getting warm and everyone leaves for summer vacation. But that's not very soon at all...

[Hm. Okay, maybe he won't come that late. He's has to come before summer!]

Do lots of people always show up then? ...Yotsuba showed up before then!

Lots of people show up every couple of months. It's nothing to do with January specifically. Sorry for the confusion.

Ohhh, so it runs on a schedule. Schedules are important, it's good to know when you're meant to do stuff, otherwise you might forget!

[This reminds her:] I haven't made a schedule here yet. Yotsuba should ask for one for Christmas!

What do you do every day that you'd need a schedule?

[...he's really quite curious. Yotsuba seems the sort of person where she just might have a schedule she keeps to.]

Everything! Yotsuba does everything, and that needs a schedule.

[Daddy had a schedule, so she made schedule too. Yup.] At 11:01, Yotsuba will sing a song.

[You just had to catch him outside, Yotsuba. Even so, Giles reaches into his pocket for his watch.]

And, um, how long is this song?

Abooout... A few minutes!

[She has no idea. This seems like an accurate guess however!]

[There's a "click" as Giles opens the watch and checks:]

...well, um, you still have a few hours until then.

Sorry but, um, do you really need to schedule singing?

Okay, Yotsuba will wait until then to be on schedule. Or, or, Yotsuba could move it forward!

[Schedules are very flexible things.]

Of course, it's impoortant to have a schedule for those sorts of things!

[Giles opens his mouth to protest this point...and then he closes it. Because, really, what right does he have to talk?

In fact:]

I schedule my singing too, you know. Just a bit.

Ohhhh, you sing too? When are you next scheduled to sing a song then? We should... Do our schedules... Together.

[There's a word she was trying to remember where you do your schedule at the same time as someone else's, but she can't remember for the life of her what that word is.]

Probably a bit later than you're going to be around for, but, um, I wouldn't mind rescheduling if you wanted.

Yes! Yotsuba would like to request a rescheduled schedule so our schedules can be together.

[And then they can sing and that would be great.]

Okay! The time for singing is... [Uhm. She doesn't know what time it is.] Now o'clock!

[...Giles helpfully checks his way.]

Is that the time? Uh...

The time for singing is ten fifteen then. That's now. Right?

[Coughing loudly and making a big show of clearing her throat.]
