TWO ⌘ Yotsuba and Christmas [Video|Action]

[This would be Yotsuba's first real Christmas. Back home they never had the chance to celebrate in their new home before she was taken here. It was all so exciting, seeing all the bright lights and the snow.

The journal opens to show a small figure practically glued to the window of her apartment, staring out into the snow and lights. It really is beautiful you know, especially when it's your first time seeing anything like this.

Yotsuba turns to her journal and gives it a big wave and a huge smile before running over, picking the journal up and returning to the window. Anyone watching will now have a nice view from room 26 of building 5 of the surrounding area from the window. She's really excited you guys.]

It's so pretty! Look, look, do you see all the lights?! Christmas! This is definitely Christmas isn't it?!

[It's a shame Daddy isn't here to spend it with her... It had taken awhile, but she's used to Daddy not being here with her now. After all, he's going to appear someday and take her away and be all sorts of proud of her for being a big, brave girl whilst she was here.]

Gonna have lots of fun! Daddy, will you be having fun too? Don't eat too much, you'll get fat. Work hard! Don't break anything!!

[After reminding her father or what to do and not to do, she'll go back to staring out the window and will remain this way for a long time.]

[Otonashi had asked Yotsuba if she wanted to go out for a little while as he did a few Christmas-related errands, and of course she jumped at the opportunity!

Whilst Otonashi was busy, Yotsuba went off to explore. All this snow is fun, all these lights are fun, all this everything is fun!! Do you understand how much fun this is?! It's very fun!

During her explorations, Yotsuba finds herself outside the item shop, looking up at the door frame. Seems as though there's some mistletoe hanging there.

[ and so she obliged, crouching next to the girl. ] Hope it's not gonna be one of those hard to keep secrets.

Noooo, it's a really easy secret to keep.

[Quickly giving Buffy a little kiss on the cheek before running off as fast as her little legs can carry her into the shop. It's only meant for grown-ups, but she did it anyway. Yes, right now she feels like the best five year old ever.

Just going to hide behind a few shelves of items. Best hiding spot ever.]

Ohhhh, fingerpainting!? [Though it seems she doesn't care about being kept hidden when she ends up shouting about fingerpainting anyway...]

[ what a brat. ]

[ but what an adorable brat at that. after her initial surprise, the slayer's grimace breaks into a sudden and genuine grin. ]

H-hey! That? That wasn't playing fair. [ she straightens and takes the first four steps back into the shop. ]

Nuh uh, it was fair! Yotsuba used lots of thinking to do that. Lots and lots of thinking! [It was the best of plans.

Slooowly peaking her head out from the side of the shelf she's hiding behind-- And quickly zooms off further into the shop once she notices Buffy stepping closer.

There is giggling, and laughter, and she's having so much fun right now.]

[ you know what? screw grumpy-but-previously-not-grumpy-pirates and their war on fun. buffy tracks the girl's progress through the store with relative ease but opts not to press her supernatural advantage.

nope. she'll take the loooong way around -- pretending as though she's actually having a hard time keeping tabs. ]

Huh. Now where'd she go?

[Can she... Really not find her?! Oh wow, this really is the best hiding place! In her mind, Yotsuba is now the best at staying hidden. If there were some sort of hide and seek competition Yotsuba would win, hands down.

She stops running and turns to peek out from behind another shelf, still giggling.]

Shhhh. Gotta be quiet! Never gonna find me~♫

I will if you keep on singing. Championship hide-and-seeking requires complete silence...

[ buffy's voice rings out over the store. there's something slightly...authoritative about it. an instructor's voice, if not a teacher's. ]

[--Oops. Quickly slapping her hands over her mouth.]

Mmph! [That was a muffled cry of 'Right!'. Complete silence. No more talking! Or singing!

This calls for super secret hide and seeking! Getting down on the floor on her hands and knees, Yotsuba makes her super secret escape by crawling away from the direction she heard Buffy's voice.

'Now she'll never find me!']

[ there is a steady tap of low-heeled boots on the store floor. a measured step; confident. ]

Huh. Perhaps I should call in one of the magic-users. Cast a spell. Reveal her hiding spot lickety-split.

But that wouldn't be fair! Using magic is cheating!! [And that isn't keeping quiet.] Oh, Yotsuba was saying that out loud! [At least she realised...

Crawling as fast as she can to get away now, trying not to make anymore noise as she does so.]

Maybe I'm a cheater.

[ i'm not a cheater, jack sparrow. ]

And the store's only so big.

[Oh no, it is only so big! At this rate she's going to run out of hiding places... Unless she goes back to the front of the store and starts again but that would be silly!

So! In an attempt to stop making noise and find a good hiding spot, Yotsuba opts to stay perfectly still and lay face down on the floor. This is a good hiding spot, really. If she can't see Buffy then she isn't there!]

[ and so the slayer comes to stand a few feet away. truly silent.

up until: ] I spy with my little eye...

[FFFFFFFF-- Oh, oh, she knows this game. She can't help it, there's a massive grin on her face and she's starting to giggle. What do you spy Buffy?! This is so exciting~]

...Something green.

[Hey. Her hair is green. Huh.

Rolling over onto to her back and staring straight in Buffy's direction. Her mouth twitches into a smile every now and then, she can't help it.]

...Is it me?

...Clever girl.

You found me, no way! Ahahaha!! Yotsuba was really good at hiding, right, right? Right!

[And then she just breaks down into a fit of giggling and rolling about on the floor.]

That was fun!! Yotsuba had you for a moment there, I could tell. You didn't know where I was, so Yotsuba was keeping extra quiet you know!

Mmmhm. You very-nearly-almost-kinda-won. Be proud. Strut your stuff.

[Be proud? Oh okay. Scrambling to her feet, taking a deep breath and puffing her chest out. This is her proud look.]

But you know, now you need to go and hide and stuff. We're playing hide and seek, special missiletoe edition!

[ special. mistletoe. edition. ]

What? Just in the store? That's all fine and dandy for a shrimp like you but I'm tall. We might need a bigger boat.

[ and by boat she means PLACE. do ignore the jaws quote. or don't. have fun. ]

[What's a Jaws quote? Can she ignore it completely and take what was said literally? She can? Excellent.]

Yotsuba didn't know we were on a boat. Isn't this a shop? [...] Welcome aboard! Yotsuba can be the captain, Buffy can be the captain's best friend. Let's sail the five seas!

Captain's best friend? [ guh. her heart strings. ] Pretty sure that's called being the First Mate. I'm one already, y'know. A mate. Firstly. Of a boat right here in Luceti -- w-well, outside of Luceti. At the beach...

[ and then an awful idea strikes the slayer. an awful, awful idea. ] And I think there are seven. Seven seas. That's what I've been told.

That's what I meant, First Mate. Yotsuba doesn't know many boat words yet! ... [One moment, she's getting her math on.] So if you're Yotsuba's First Mate, and you're already a First Mate, that makes you a Second Mate!

[Tilting her head slightly.] Ohhhh, seven seas. That's a lot of seas. Can we sail them all?
