FOUR ⌘ Yotsuba and Valentine's Day [Action]

[Yotsuba is out on the town today! And she's wearing a fancy little outfit, because hey, you have to get dressed up for Valentine's don't you? Today, Yotsuba is Flower Cupid!

First stop of the day is the flower shop where Yotsuba will be taking ridiculous amounts of flowers and putting them in the little wicker basket she's carrying around with her. She's not sure what most of these flowers are, but she does recognise some tulips in here, plus a bunch of different coloured roses.

Her next plan of action is to hand out flowers to anyone she comes across! She'll be staying in the plaza mostly, seeing as she doesn't want to wander off and get lost, but she might feel adventurous and make it to one of the bridges before running back to the plaza again.

If she can't find anyone to give flowers to? Well then, she'll just have to shove them under doorways and whatever other ideas she can think up to get rid of them. A flower cupid might be knocking on your door today so you better answer!

Finally, the Brigade HQ will have a nice bundle of flowers left for whoever finds them there first. She daren't go inside or anything, so instead Yotsuba leaves a bunch just outside the door to be found. It might be a late apology, but she's sorry she messed everything up even though it was all Naoi's fault and oh wow Naoi is really mean.

For the duration of the day, Yotsuba will be singing a little song she made up just recently as she hands out flowers:]

Oh! A new flower girl! [ Aerith thinks this is wonderful, so if Yotsuba doesn't mind she'll help her fill her basket at the flower shop. ]

Yotauba is Flower Cupid! [The help is very welcome! Yotsuba watches Aerith for a moment before running off and grabbing another bunch for the basket.] Do you like flowers?!

Of course! That's why I work in the shop here. I'm Aerith. Nice to meet you, Yotsuba. [ hahah, Aerith just thinks this is so adorable. ] You're really excited about today, huh!

Ohhh so this is your job. Keep up the good work! [Flashing Aerith a thumbs up!] Today is the day Yotsuba is Flower Cupid and everyone gets to have some flowers, it's really exciting right?! You need some flowers too, in your hair!

Funny. I was just about to say the same for you! Can't be a flower cupid without your own flowers. [ She holds up a white flower toward Yotsuba, ready to put it in her hair if the little girl will let her. ] What kind of flower do you think I should wear?

That's true isn't it? Yotsuba needs flowers too to be Flower Cupid! [Stepping forward and bowing her head down. Flower away!] Yotsuba will look extra pretty.

Hmm. You're really pretty already so you need an even prettier flower. [This will require some deep thought.]

[ Flowering--! ] You do! It goes really nice with your hair.

[ Hee. ] Thank you. That's very sweet. Hmm... [ looking arooound... wondering to herself what Julian might like. ]

Yotsuba's hair is green and the flower is white! [Aw yeah she knows her colours. Lightly touching where the flower is in her to check where it is.] Not Yotsuba can be an even better Flower Cupid.

[Think, think... Ahah!] You need a pink flower, pink is a nice colour. [Into the basket of flowers she goes, picking out a pink daisy.]

And my favorite! Good choice. [ At this point all the shades of pink will kind of clash on her, but does she really mind? Yotsuba's cheerfulness is adorable. ] I think everyone will smile to see such a wonderful Flower Cupid. You'll be careful, right? [ Sometimes she worries with little kids, seeing as soooome people are not so nice. But it's a good day today and hopefully everything will be okay. ]

Really?! Yotsuba made a good choice, ahaha!! [Clapping her hands together excitedly, doing good things is good.] Yotsuba will be really careful so don't worry! Look both ways before crossing the street and don't go with strangers even if they say they know you! [Though she tends to forget the latter one, given the number of random people she meets and runs off with sometimes...]

Right. And if anyone ever tries to take you somewhere you don't want to go, you scream real loud and run away. [ Aerith knows this rule well! Haha... ] You've had a good teacher.

Yotsuba is good at running away and ran away from a stranger before! They said they knew daddy, but Yotsuba didn't know if that was true. [It was true. That was awkward.] Daddy taught Yotsuba lots of stuff! About strangers, and obon, and how to ride a bike with training wheels!

[ It's okay Yotsuba. You were being safe. ]

They sound like good things to know. But what's obon?

Obon is when all the grandmas and grandpas come back from the dead and say hello! Then they go back to heaven and eat lots of good food, it's a good life.

[It's also to do with ancestral spirits, but 'grandma and grandpa coming back' is simpler.]

Oh! Sounds like...a very happy Halloween.

[ ... They don't really have an equivalent to this on Gaia

but if it helps, Aerith genuinely thinks it sounds nice. ]

What's a Halloween?

[Luckily she missed the last Hallow-thing and arrived in time for Christmas. Given what happened she doesn't seem to be missing out on much.]

It's when spirits get a little restless and want to visit people. Sometimes there's monsters, but mostly it's just a big game. [ Trick-or-treeting, after all. ]

[ --Aerith is quick to reassure her, and now hopes Yotsuba never experiences Halloween in Luceti because the Malnosso don't seem to want to keep it fun. ]

[That's a game, and it's also pretty fun.] Or do monsters like playing hide and seek more?

Their special game is called trick-or-treat. They go from door to door at people's houses and knock. When the door opens, they say 'trick or treat!' Most people give them the treat. But if they don't...they just might play a trick.

[Treat? Treat? Whoah now, that sounds right down her street.]

Ohhh, and then what sort of treats do the monsters get? I bet they're yummy.

[Please, elaborate on these alleged treats.]

Little pieces of candy. It can be any kind of candy, as long as it's yummy. But...

[ She sees how excited Yotsuba is getting, and gives her a small tap on her nose. ] Don't get too excited, now. Halloween is in October. That's a few months away.

[She said candy! She said the magic words! Candy~! --Wait what she has to wait until October?]

Awwh that's like... [Counting on her fingers quickly.] A lot of months away, more than a few. Can Yotsuba have some candy before then?

Hmmm. How about... when you're done being Flower Cupid! It can be a reward for a job well done. [ And that'll give her time to get some candy. ]
