FIVE ⌘ Yotsuba and Running Away [Written?|Action]

[Otonashi left yesterday. That meant that now Yotsuba was stuck in a house with that loser Naoi. The fact he was really kind a little while back at the beach but now he's really mean again is more than a little confusing to the girl. Yuri is still here but right now all Yotsuba is thinking of is the bad stuff. Namely no more Otonashi and lots more stupid, mean Naoi.

What she does next seems like a brilliant idea! This will totally bring Otonashi back and make Naoi be nice again, and if it doesn't then oh well at least she's not living in the same house as him anymore.

This badly scrawled message appears on the journals:]

[Now then! If she's running away she needs lots of important things. For one her pink fluffy coat that Jack gave her to keep warm, a ton of food from the fridge, the viking helmet and fishing pole thing that Hiccup got her, the cicada plushie Otonashi left for her...

It isn't until she tries leaving the house with all her belongings that she realises this is a bad idea. So instead she settles on the coat and the plushie. Sacrifices have to be made if you're running away! Sadly these sacrifices also include her journal so she won't be replying to her little goodbye message.

Morning
This is a great idea! Running away from home is the best thing she's ever decided to do! Otonashi will be trying to find his way back now and Naoi is probably feeling really bad about pulling her hair and telling her to shut up all the time. Yuri is probably shouting at him for it too! Haha, yes, running away has solved everything! Yotsuba happily marches around the village with a big smile on her face, more than a little proud at how she thinks her plan is going.

Midday
Hungry... Why didn't she bring some food with her? Maybe she'll wander on over to Seventh Heaven and see if she can get some food from there, they make awesome pancakes after all. Or maybe the bakery! Or she could settle for staring at passers-by with big, open eyes until they give her something to eat. Screw taking candy from strangers she's hungry!!

Afternoon
Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all. Now she's getting cold. And hungry again. And Otonashi hasn't come back and found her yet... She wants to go home. The problem is Yotsuba has wandered so far away from home by this point that she's in a part of the village she doesn't even recognise. Now she's lost, cold, hungry and really upset. How is she going to get home now?]

Waaaaaaaah!! Yotsuba wants to go home!! Wanna go hooome!!

[Saving the best for last, hmm? He can deal with that.]

All right, let's see it.

[Walking out of Yuri's room, down the steps which raise up that part of the house and heading into the kitchen!

Once there Yotsuba pulls out one of those stool steps kids stand on to reach the counter tops and she claps her hands together.]

Today's special is daikon raddish with daikon soup. And corn!

[Jay looks up at the cabinets, wondering what other foods they might have up there.]

Daikon? I've never heard of that before...

Do you have scallops?

Daikon is cheap, it's good to have in these rough times. This economy is awful.

[There is no economy what is money... She probably doesn't even know what the economy is past reading it in one of her dad's newspapers.]

... There's salmon.

Salmon will do, I suppose. Does Yurippe do the cooking in here?

[Because she already said that Naoi can't cook, and he can't see Yotsuba cooking either.]

Nope, Nowy doesn't cook, Yurippe doesn't cook, Yotsuba doesn't cook.

[None of them can cook. And yet they have salmon, probably from when Otonashi was here.]

None of you can cook? It's a good thing the restaurants are free then.

But what will you do with that salmon?

[Good question. It'll probably just go to waste if it's not eaten.... Idea!]

It's a souvenir!

[Running to the fridge and pulling out the cut of salmon.]

You can take it as a souvenir from Yotsuba's house! And then Yotsuba can get a souvenir back sometime.

[Enjoy your salmon Jay.]

Oh, thank you!

[Happily taking the salmon. Now onto the real business.]

Now...doesn't "Nowy" have a room in this house?

[Yes, he had to ask.]

[Hopefully her housemates won't mind her just giving their food away, even if they wouldn't cook with it.]

Nowy has a room, it's over there. [Pointing through the walls in the direction of his room.] We can go look, but you have to be quiet! Sneaky!

[Off she goes, creeping on tip-toes out of the kitchen towards his room... And then shouting back.]

Sneaky!!

Don't worry, sneaking is one of my specialties.

[He'll move behind her silently. When they reach Naoi's room, Jay presses his back against the wall next to the door. Then he'll lean towards the doorway, turning his head to peek into the room over his shoulder.]

[Oh that's much sneakier than Yotsuba, she just ends up marching right on in on her tip toes as though walking like that might make her invisible.]

We're in! [Aaand relax.] Okay, this is Nowy's room.

[There's not much to speak of really. On his dresser are a few hand made pots along with a deformed looking vase. His desk has three hats on top of it which are all presents from Otonashi. Other than that there are some books scattered here and there.]

[The pots certainly catch Jay's attention as he steps in quietly, picking up one of the pots to examine it. He taps it gently with a fingernail to test its fragileness.]

Well, this is interesting...

[So "Nowy" is someone who likes pots and hats, apparently.]

[Seems that way! But Yotsuba could have gathered that herself from walking in and looking around. She tends to keep out of Nowy's room because it's Nowy's and... Yeah, she doesn't like him. If that isn't clear by now.]

This is interesting!

[Only she's referring to Nowy's bed, which she will now start jumping on. What is this it's springier than hers?!]

[And while she's doing the bouncing thing, Jay sets the first pot back on the dresser carefully. Then he moves to pick up the vase, turning it in all directions, viewing it from every angle. And again, he'll tap it with his finger.]

[Have fun with those pots Jay, Yotsuba is just going to keep on bouncing! Boing, boing, boing, crunch...

Oh she didn't bounce back up that time. Seems like she wrecked the springs in the mattress Welp at least Naoi's bed isn't springier than hers now!

Just so she can't be blamed anything, Yotsuba carefully backs away from the bed and quickly looks at Jay. You saw nothing!]

[Well, Yuri did send Naoi out to look for Yotsuba but he needs a small break. He's been out there for hours and there's no doubt in his mind that she'll show back up magically on her own. Or with a friend.

So he walks down the hall, to his bedroom and... ]

[ .......The fuck. ]

[ WHAT THE FUCK--WHY.

WHY ARE THERE TWO PEOPLE IN HIS ROOM.

ONE BEING YOTSUBA

AND THE OTHER IS TOUCHING HIS POTTERY.]

Who the hell do you think you two are?! Get. OUT.

[Walking over to grab Yotsuba by the back of the shirt and drag her towards the door]

[Jay hears the crunch and glances over at the now broken bed, and then at Yotsuba. He may not have seen it, but he's smart enough to figure out what happened. But then he just shrugs it off.]

Oops. Oh well...

[But then when the angry "God" shows up and yells, Jay simply glances at him, still holding the vase. He doesn't try to stop Naoi from grabbing Yotsuba.]

So, you must be "Nowy."

[WELL FUCK. Come on help a girl out here. She's being dragged here, a five year old, defenseless girl is being dragged by some huge jerk.

Insert screaming and wailing here.]

Oh no Nowy's got me, save Yotsuba! Noooo, go away go away!! Gyaaaaaaaaaah!!

[To Yotsuba:] Be quiet!! You should know better than to enter God's room. [And so he shoves her out the door.

And then he looks at Jay. Not someone he knows but it must be someone Yotsuba is friends with. Either that or she just brought this guy home randomly] I am not "Nowy". If you wish to address me by anything, call me God. Understood? Good. Now get out.

"God?" Really, you should know better than to impersonate the divine.

[He has to have another name. "God" doesn't even sound anything like "Nowy."]

[Jay looks down at the vase in his arms for another moment before placing it carefully back on the dresser.]

All right...I was about done looking around anyway.

[So he steps out of the room, looking around for Yotsuba.]
