[Sometime in the afternoon, Yotsuba sees this message pop up in her journal. Rumours of buried treasure?! No way, she had totally been left out of the loop, what rumours?! There are probably hundreds, no, thousands of people already out looking for the treasure by now... She'll have to be quick and find it before anyone else! That treasure will be hers!!

First off she heads to the fountain and from there her treasure hunt begins! Yotsuba has her journal with her as she walks around all over the place trying to find the next hint to where the treasure is buried. There's the odd occasion where she's concentrating so hard on her journal that she ends up bumping into walls and maybe even people, but that doesn't deter her for long! Feel free to run into her at any of these locations: the fountain, playground, bakery, item shop, clinic, cherry blossom hill, library and finally around house 16. Yes, she's going to be all over the place today.

If you don't feel like engaging this five year old in her treasure hunting shenanigans that's fine. Yotsuba might just come to you first, waving her latest hint around and trying to get your attention.]

Hey, heeey! Do you see this? I need help, there's buried treasure out there and Yotsuba is going to find it!

[If you help her out there might be some candy and plastic coins in it for you in future. Maybe, if she decides to share.]

...Wrong way 'round, sweetheart.

Huh? [Okay, turning it around in her hands so it's still facing the same way but she rolled it around a little. Good enough?

... Yeah, good enough, forward march! It's a little difficult when all you can see is tiny circle of light so expect some items to be knocked off the shelves here and there as she walks on with the telescope.]

[ yotsuba always manages to warm her heart. despite missing her willow and her jack, buffy finds herself laughing as she protectively trails the girl through the aisles. ]

I bet this treasure's something rare and exotic and totally hunt-worthy.

It has to be just like! You don't bury stuff that isn't awesome, who would bury a tengu anyway?

[Tengus aren't awesome. They're scary. Fact.]

It's going to be really cool, something Yotsuba has never seen before. Buffy might have seen it before but Yotsuba won't have, rare and exclusive!

[ buffy picks up one of those toy grabbers; this one with a dinosaur head. ]

Wait wait wait. Be kind; rewind. What's a tengu?

[Whoah. Dinosaur on a stick. She had no idea they came in stick form?!]

They're scary and have really long noses. Tengus show up at festivals and they try and make Yotsuba cry so don't talk to tengus they're really stupid!

[Oh! She can look at the dinosaur through her telescope!]

[ she snaps the dinosaur once or twice in yotsuba's direction. ]

Really long...noses? Like an elephant nose?

Oh! It moved!!

[She jumps back a little and stares ever harder down the telescope at the dinosaur.]

Not that long! They're long like, uhm...

[For a moment she looks at her new telescope... And then moves it from her eyes down to her nose.]

Like this! It sticks straight out.

...Like a beak?

Not a beak, a beak would be this!

[With one hand holding the telescope in place she brings her other hand up to make a 'beak' over her mouth. Sadly Yotsuba doesn't have three hands, so the journal and hints get dropped in favour of doing an impression of a tengu with a beak.]

But tengus don't have beaks, they have big mouths and they look angry all the time. And noses that are long and point out but aren't elephant noses and aren't beaks!

[Her hand opens and closes as she speaks as she mimics a beak, or tries to anyway.]

Tengus aren't ducks, ducks have the beaks around here!

[ buffy the vampire slayer to the rescue! she swoops down, grabbing the journal and tucking the clue into one of its pages. ]

Wait wait wait. Is a tengu some kinda demon? It's starting to sound just a little demonish.

They might be demons?! They look super evil!

[And demons are evil, so that would make sense. She's still keeping up the beaked tengu impression as she goes on.]

But they're just masks! Under the mask they're just normal people. Daddy saved Yotsuba from a tengu once, he was so brave!

[ OH. this makes more sense. ]

Tell me all about the rescue?

There was this really big tengu, he was the boss tengu. He saw Yotsuba... And he started running! But Daddy slided over in front of Yotsuba like whoosh and said 'I'll protect you Yotsuba!'

Then the tengu attacked Daddy. He might have died.

So Yotsuba starting punching the tengu, but it was just Jumbo under a mask. He was good again and not an evil tengu so it was okay. It was scary and awesome.

Wait wait wait. Back up, darling. Who's Jumbo?

Yotsuba's friend, he's huuuge! He has to duck down to get through doors and Yotsuba can see the top of cars and everything when he gives me piggyback rides. There's no one taller than Jumbo!

And how does Jumbo feel about being called Jumbo?

Everyone calls him Jumbo, he doesn't care because that's his name! Jumbo!

[Well it's not, but she doesn't remember his real name off of the top of her head.] Should he care about being called Jumbo? Yotsuba will tell him that.

Should he? Nah. Only if he...wants to care.
