Yotsuba is going into space. [Stay serious. This isn't fun... But oh my gosh space?! She's been star gazing and talked about aliens and Sailor Moon- Will Sailor Moon be there?! GFDKHASGK-- Okay no, no. Serious face. She might have cracked a smile there but she's doing her best to take this as seriously as she can manage.] Space is really big. And really far away!

[She turns away for a moment, only to come back with this thing in her arms.]

Someone needs to take care of him whilst Yotsuba is gone. He likes eating leaves and crackers, and he sleeps a lot but you need to take care of him anyway. He still needs looking after even if he's lazy!

[Yes. She's being sent off into space and one of her top priorities is making sure the stuffed toy Otonashi gave her is kept safe.]

Yuri can't look after him, she's busy! [Or she imagines she will be, SSS stuff and what not.] And Naoi can't do anything! ... Ohhh, is space cold? Yotsuba will bring the fluffy pink coat, it's really warm.

He's a lot of trouble Hayate! He gets really hungry when he wakes up and he likes sitting in the sun, so make sure he keeps extra sunny.

[Even though she's resigned herself to taking this completely super seriously it's still pretty cool. How many five year olds get the chance to go to the moon after all?]

[She takes her journal and turns it to face her bed. On it are said fluffy coat she received from jack, a rain hat, a pair of galoshes, her water pistol and some candy. Space rations.]

Yotsuba is prepared! It's what you do when you make a plan, you make sure you're prepared.

Well. Apparently they're gonna be handing out space suits but I'll be well and truly cheesed off if they have them in your size.

Yotsuba has never been to the moon before you know?! Only seen it! And the constellations and all the stars! You use a red torch when you're stargazing because it's easier to see the stars that way! Yotsuba knows lots and lots about space!

[... Wait what was that about serious? Ahem. Right. Serious stuff.] But this is serious Usagi, Yotsuba is going to space! [She's trying to force a straight face but the corners of her mouth keep twitching into a smile. It's dangerous, bad stuff might happen!! ... But space!]

[A laugh, because despite how much he hates kids in battle zones—hello, memories—this is a kind of determined, weird, excited entry that only a kid could pull off and it makes him good-spirited by default. If not nostalgic for the company of his younger family members. He's not about to scare her with grim realities. Fuck that. He'll just keep an eye out for her like he did for Andy and take out anyone who tries to mess with her or the rest of 'em.]

It's super cold. You might just turn into a little snowman, if you're not really careful. You'd have a carrot for a nose and everything.

Oh no! Yotsuba doesn't want to be a snowman, I would have to be super cold to be a Yotsuba snowman! [Then again, there was that one time Jack buried her in the snow. That was sorta like being a snowman. Sorta.

Anyway, to avoid turning into a snowman she'll definitely need some more coats. Off into the house she goes. When she returns it's almost hard to spot her over the mound of fluffy tops and coats she brought back, most of which aren't even in her size.

With a heave ho she dumps her warm clothing haul onto her bed and wipes her forehead with her hand.] Being prepared is hard work.

[ Tenten's heart breaks on the inside. Children that aren't prepared for war shouldn't go, and they're never really ready with a few exceptions. She tries to smile and disregard her inner feelings and instead tries to persuade Yotsuba to stay indoors. She doesn't want to scare the living daylights out of the poor girl either. ]

[By this point she has two answers to this question. First she'll go with the answer that everyone has told her to do. The safe, nice and happy one.]

Yotsuba is going to bring some colouring books and listen to everything the adults say so no bad strangers come for me.

[And now for the other answer which is a lot more dangerous but also a lot more exciting.]

But Yotsuba is gonna go and collect moon rocks too, and stargaze on the moon with Captain Jack and eat cheesypuffy popcornonos! [Whatever those are.]

[ Yuri hates that she has no idea how to stop this. She really does. She doesn't want Yotsuba to have anything to do with this. At least Yotsuba doesn't look scared or anything. ]

I can take him with me if you haven't found anyone else yet.

[ She doesn't suppose trying to destroy all the ships before they have to leave would do anything... maybe she can send Yotsuba in with something to destroy it on her way out? Leave the briefcase and press the red button on your way off of the shuttle, okay?

That would probably be bad. Kids should not be used as terrorists. ]

[She would probably forget the briefcase anyway, or throw the bomb/explosive/whatever out into space and fill the case with 'souvenirs' to bring back home instead.]

Hayate said he would look after Mister Cicada so it's okay. You have SSS stuff to do so you're really busy. Yotsuba doesn't want to trouble you in your time of working.

[She bows her head and claps twice as though she were showing her respect at a temple.]

But if you have spare time maybe you can help Hayate. Mister Cicada is a handful and he might need two people watching him.
